This 30m x 3m pedestrian bridge over the river in Lodrino aims to create a place. The site for the new bridge has been chosen where the river offers basins and water falls where people use to relax and swim during the summer period.
The sides have been shaped following the flows of the water, introducing large and comfortable steps to reach the basins underneath.
The main structure (double precast concrete beam) solves the matter of crossing the river in the most elementary way.
The substructure (iron profiles holding a metal grid) is cantilevered and gives a solid appearance at the edges of the bridge while it appears transparent once the people cross it, reducing the perception of distance between pathway and water.
