Casasco offers an extraordinary natural landscape with a spectacular view on the Como Lake. The project stress the relation between man and nature with a primary geometry set at the edge of the ancient village of Casasco as a kind of bastion but without a direction. The elliptical shape opens the interior spaces towards the surrounding in all directions. The new volume does not set itself as a limit but as a point, a centre that becomes through the courtyard a refuge for the guest of the clinic. The round shaped elevations leave the light flow on the skin of the building avoiding strong shadowed sides, giving a soft appearance to the volume. The attention to the courtyard that connect visually all floors and all public spaces becomes the main element to allow the people to orient themselves immediately and to relate the people with the garden as part of the sensorial experience for the guest of the clinic.
