RETAIL CENTRE AND RESIDENCES

The task to build on a land of a former industrial area for the extraction from the ground of material for construction give us the idea to just fill the missing (while excavated) ground and bring the level of the ground at the originary height by displaying the functions on the lower levels. Set between two towns, on the axe Milano-Bergamo, this project gives the site the challenge to not appear as a build connection of two distinct urban areas as undefined growing urban tissues. At the contrary it keeps and marks the division between two urban identities that have a clear structure of centre, limit and green belt around. The new volumes appears at the upper level as a designed garden partially used as roof parking. The “leave” shape of the buildings drawn  fluent flows of the pedestrian as well as vehicular traffica s kind of organic traces carved in the valley. The extended program of about 100’000 m2 functions as commercial and industrial park  is inscribed on two one storeys buildings that show therir dimensions only once in front of the entrances.
