Since the dawn of human settlements, people have prepared habitable conditions by utilizing nature, specifically trees and vegetation, to create a new microclimate that welcomes habitation. The new Dehrmi begins its story with this concept, forming a new Mediterranean park outside and generous spaces from the juxtaposition of residential volumes. Thus, the new Dehrmi becomes an inverted fortress: welcoming people instead of defending.

After establishing the vegetation, we insert a filter of Mediterranean-style walls, emphasizing the importance of intermediate spaces that connect the building’s interior life to the exterior. In this way, we do not build a structure but create a place, an organism that breathes and enhances the breath of its guests, harmonizing with the landscape. This concept is the initial foundation of the project, and its magic lies in the unique experience we offer guests. It’s a new approach to architecture and environmental construction, free from ideological intellectualizations, based on the principle of making people comfortable in the built environment through the senses.

Our work with Orion Construction focuses on the senses, translating well-being into physical reality, as only the privileged physical experience of these spaces can provide a new and unforgettable sensation. The perception of a green area amidst dense developments reflects this sensitive attention to the environment, which, although built, is perceived as a green lung of rest and respect.

The view angles from approaching to the sea-facing openings of each housing unit reflect the intention and attention for every resident to enjoy a high-quality life. Guiding people’s well-being through the design of spaces is a moral and civic duty. We take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity to apply our experiences from similar settlements in hilly and natural slopes to introduce a largely unprecedented typology of blending into a precious landscape like our coast.

Space is a journey into emotions, and emotions are lived, not just seen. The psychology of space and its construction through a new conscious sensitivity is reflected in the care for beauty that is felt before understood. The filters built between inside and outside offer precious and evocative spaces of Albania’s most prosperous era, connecting to the spaces between buildings that become private patios, open to the sky-mountains-sea, promoting natural ventilation and infused with scents and colors, part of a new era of conscious care for quality of life and mind, promoted by Orion Construction and Macullo Architects in all projects under development and design.

The repetition of construction elements, marked by the historical and soft shapes of circles and their sinuous flow, embrace and project guests towards the horizon, offering continuously diverse environments and a consistently unique experience. The soft and unexpected sensations produce a sense of falling in love with the places, feeling always within an ideal world built for them. Each environment is proportioned for a different sensation, yet all emphasize guest comfort. From arrival, to a porch, to a patio, to the internal atrium which is not a corridor but a total experience immersed in magic and sensations.

This project constructs a fantastic world, a unique opportunity on the verge of a new true meaning of living through the senses. The project’s elements, through emotions, start from approaching the place along green roads surrounded by mountains, fields, and sea. The natural, almost unbuilt slope in the distance appears as a place, a shore transformed into a park, a destination that visually conveys the mystery of a dreamy, privileged, and desired location.
